Tags
Tags are free-text labels you can apply to media files, layouts, playlists, displays, and other content to make them easier to find, filter, and organise. The Tags page lets administrators manage the tag library centrally.
Navigate to: Sidebar → Tags
What Are Tags Used For?
Section titled “What Are Tags Used For?”Tags can be applied to most content types in OTS Signs:
- Library files: tag media with
summer-promoorrestaurant-menuto filter quickly. - Layouts: group layouts by campaign or season.
- Playlists: filter dynamic playlists by tag.
- Displays: tag displays by location or department for dynamic group criteria.
Viewing Tags
Section titled “Viewing Tags”The Tags page lists all tags currently in use across the system with their name and how many items use each tag.
Creating a Tag
Section titled “Creating a Tag”Tags are usually created on the fly when editing a content item: type a new tag name in any tag field and it is created for you.
To create a tag directly from the Tags page:
- Navigate to Tags in the sidebar.
- Click Create Tag.
- Enter the tag name.
- Click Save.
Editing a Tag
Section titled “Editing a Tag”Renaming a tag from the Tags page updates it everywhere it is used:
- Find the tag in the list.
- Click Edit.
- Enter the new name.
- Click Save.
Deleting a Tag
Section titled “Deleting a Tag”- Find the tag and click the context menu → Delete and confirm.
Deleting a tag removes it from all content items that use it. The items themselves are not affected; only the tag label is removed.
Applying Tags to Content
Section titled “Applying Tags to Content”Tags can be applied when creating or editing any content item. Find the Tags field in the edit dialog and type to add tags. Existing tags are shown as suggestions.
Filtering by Tag
Section titled “Filtering by Tag”On any content page (Library, Layouts, Playlists, etc.), use the tag filter dropdown to show only items with a specific tag.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”- All users can apply and remove tags on items they have edit access to.
- Admins can manage the global tag list from the Tags page.
