Audit Trail
The Audit Trail records every significant action taken in OTS Signs: who did what, and when. It is the authoritative history of changes to your signage system, useful for troubleshooting, compliance, and accountability. For usage and playback statistics, see Reports.
Navigate to: Sidebar → Audit Trail
What the Audit Trail Records
Section titled “What the Audit Trail Records”The audit trail captures events including:

| Content | Layout created, media uploaded, playlist edited |
| Scheduling | Schedule added, modified, or deleted |
| Displays | Display authorised, edited, command sent |
| Users & Groups | User invited, role changed, group membership updated |
| Permissions | Access granted or revoked |
| Settings | System settings changed |
| Authentication | Login, logout |
Each entry shows:
- Date and time of the action.
- User who performed it.
- Action type.
- Object affected (e.g. layout name, display name).
- Details: metadata about the change.
Viewing the Audit Trail
Section titled “Viewing the Audit Trail”- Navigate to Audit Trail in the sidebar.
- The log is displayed in reverse chronological order (most recent first).
- Use the page size selector to control how many entries are shown per page.
Filtering the Log
Section titled “Filtering the Log”Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow results:

| Date range | Show events within a specific period (from / to) |
| User | Show only actions by a specific user |
| Action | Filter by event type |
Exporting the Audit Trail
Section titled “Exporting the Audit Trail”- Apply any filters you need.
- Click Download to export the visible entries as a file.
This is useful for compliance reporting or handing records to an auditor.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”- The Audit Trail is visible to Admins and OTS Admins only.
- Viewers and Editors do not have access to the audit trail.
