Overrides

Overrides let you temporarily replace the content playing on one or more displays without changing your existing schedules. When an override is active, it takes over from the normal schedule. When it expires or is deleted, displays revert to their normal schedules.

Navigate to: Sidebar → Overrides

Use overrides when you need to:

  • Push an urgent announcement to displays immediately.
  • Replace content during an event or incident.
  • Test new content on live displays without changing the schedule.
  • Show a “Closed” or “Be Right Back” message for a defined period.

Overrides are best for time-sensitive, one-off situations. For regular scheduled content, use Schedules instead.

The Overrides page shows all current and upcoming overrides. The summary at the top of the page shows:

  • Total Overrides: all overrides in the system.
  • Active Now: overrides currently playing on displays.
  1. Navigate to Overrides in the sidebar.
  2. Click Create Override.
  3. Fill in the override details:
    • Name: a description of what this override is for (e.g. “Emergency Closure Notice”).
    • Content: the layout or playlist to show.
    • Displays / Groups: which displays or display groups to target.
    • Start / End time: when the override begins and ends.
  4. Click Save.

The override is pushed to the targeted displays immediately. Those displays play the override content until the end time is reached.

To end an override early:

  1. Find the override in the list.
  2. Click the context menu → Delete and confirm.

The targeted displays revert to their normal schedules.

  • Viewers can view active overrides.
  • Editors can create and delete overrides.
  • Admins have full access.
