Overrides

Overrides

An override immediately replaces whatever a screen is playing with a specific playlist, for a defined duration. Use overrides for emergency messages, surprise promotions, or any situation where you need to take over a screen right now without editing or reprioritising existing schedules.

Get there: Sidebar → Overrides

Creating an override immediately interrupts the screen’s current schedule. The screen starts playing the override playlist as soon as the override activates.

The Overrides page lists all active and upcoming overrides. Completed overrides are removed automatically.

A Filter by Screen dropdown narrows the list to a single screen.

Click + Create Override. The dialog has these fields:

FieldNotes
ScreenThe single screen to override.
PlaylistThe playlist to play during the override.
Starts AtDate and time the override begins. Click Now to start immediately.
DurationHow long the override runs: 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr, 4 hr, 8 hr, 24 hr, or Indefinite.
ReasonOptional note for the audit trail (up to 1,000 characters).

If the chosen start time overlaps an existing override on the same screen, a warning lists the conflicts before you confirm.

Click Activate Override to save. The screen begins playing the override playlist on its next manifest poll (usually within seconds).

Click Cancel on the row. A confirmation dialog asks you to confirm. Once cancelled, the screen returns to its normal schedule on its next poll.

  • Emergency closure — override lobby screens with a “Closed Today” message for a few hours.
  • VIP visit — replace default content on specific screens with curated content for the duration of a meeting.
  • Breaking promotion — push a flash-sale playlist to one screen immediately without adjusting the existing schedule.
