Player Software
The Stratos Player is the application that runs on your display hardware and connects to the Stratos web platform. It downloads scheduled content, manages local playback, and reports status back to Stratos at regular intervals.
What the player does
Section titled “What the player does”- Downloads and caches media and layouts from Stratos.
- Polls Stratos on a configurable interval (default: 60 seconds) for schedule updates.
- Plays scheduled content and falls back to the default layout when no schedule is active.
- Reports heartbeat, currently-playing content, and faults to Stratos.
- Executes commands sent from the Stratos web app (screenshot, refresh, reboot).

Player versions
Section titled “Player versions”The player software version is shown on each screen’s detail page under the Device section. Contact OTS Signs support for information about available releases and update procedures for your deployment.
Supported platforms
Section titled “Supported platforms”The Stratos player is designed for the following platforms:
- Windows — standard PC hardware and commercial displays with Windows
- Linux — standard x86-64 Linux installations
- Raspberry Pi — for compact, low-power deployments
