Feeds

Connect RSS, social, calendar and review sources once and use them in widgets across your layouts.

A feed is a data source that widgets read from: news headlines, calendar events, customer reviews, social posts. You connect each source once in Feeds, then pick it in widgets such as News, Calendar, Reviews, Social Feed, Ticker and Markets. Stratos fetches and caches the content, so your screens don’t depend on the source being online at that moment.

Where to find it: Settings → Feeds. You need feeds:read to view, feeds:write to add and edit, and feeds:delete to delete.

The Feeds page

Summary tiles show All feeds, Healthy and Needs attention. Filter by type (All and each type with a count) and search by name. Each feed shows its type, source, status, last sync and refresh interval. Export downloads the list.

StatusMeaning
SyncedFetched successfully on schedule.
PendingWaiting for the first fetch.
StaleThe last successful fetch is older than expected.
ErrorThe last fetch failed. Hover for the reason, or open the feed to see Last error.

Click a feed to open its details: Status, Last synced, Sources (each with any error), and Latest items, a preview of what widgets will show. Refresh (or Sync now in the row menu) fetches again straight away.

Click Add feed. It’s a two-step wizard.

Choosing a feed type

Step 1: pick a type

TypeBrings inYou provide
RSSArticles from any RSS or Atom feed. The feed URL. Examples are offered, such as WordPress, BBC News and The Verge.
SocialYouTube channels, playlists and videos, plus TikTok posts. One or more source URLs, and how many Posts to keep.
ReviewsReviews from a feed or Google Place.A review feed URL (RSS or JSON), or a Google Place ID.
CalendarEvents from an ICS calendar feed. The ICS link. Google Calendar and Outlook show where to copy it.
MarketStock quotes.Comma-separated symbols, such as AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL.
Instagram, LinkedInPosts from a connected account.Marked Coming soon.

Step 2: configure it. Give it a Name (a sensible one is suggested), enter the source, and choose a Refresh interval: 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes. The wizard previews the latest items so you can check it works before saving. If something’s wrong it says what to fix (for example Enter a feed URL to preview its latest items).

A Feed created message confirms. Market data fills in after the feed’s first sync.

Edit changes the name, source or refresh interval. Delete removes the feed. Widgets that used it will show nothing until you pick another feed. Stratos asks you to confirm.

In the layout designer, add a feed-driven widget and choose your feed in its Content settings. If the widget shows nothing, open the feed and check its status. See Widgets.
