Time Blocks
Time Blocks are reusable time window templates. Instead of configuring the same days and hours for every schedule, create a Time Block once and apply it to any schedule.
What Is a Time Block?
Section titled “What Is a Time Block?”A Time Block defines a recurring time pattern:
- Days of the week — e.g., Monday through Friday.
- Start and end times — e.g., 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Optional date range — e.g., only active during the summer months.
Once created, a Time Block appears in the time window picker when you create or edit a schedule.
Creating a Time Block
Section titled “Creating a Time Block”- Go to Scheduling → Time Windows.
- Click Create Time Block.
- Give it a descriptive name (e.g., “Business Hours,” “Evening Promo,” “Weekend Special”).
- Configure the days and times.
- Optionally set a start and end date.
- Click Save.
Common Time Block Patterns
Section titled “Common Time Block Patterns”| Name | Days | Times | Use Case |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Hours | Mon–Fri | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Standard corporate content. |
| Lunch Rush | Mon–Fri | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Menu board promotions. |
| Evening Promo | Mon–Sun | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM | After-hours advertising. |
| Weekend | Sat–Sun | All day | Weekend-specific content. |
| 24/7 | All days | All day | Always-active content. |
Applying a Time Block
Section titled “Applying a Time Block”When creating or editing a schedule:
- In the Time Window section, click Select Time Block.
- Choose a Time Block from the list.
- The schedule inherits the Time Block’s days and times.
You can still add additional date constraints on top of the Time Block (e.g., “use the Business Hours block, but only during June”).
Editing Time Blocks
Section titled “Editing Time Blocks”Changes to a Time Block affect all schedules that reference it. If you update “Business Hours” from 8–6 to 9–5, every schedule using that block reflects the new times.
To avoid unintended changes, consider creating a new Time Block instead of editing an existing one.
