Player Settings

The Stratos player has several configurable settings that control how it communicates with the server, renders content, and manages the display hardware. This article covers the key settings and when to adjust them.

The polling interval determines how often the player checks in with Stratos for updates.

SettingDefaultWhen to Change
Polling Interval60 secondsIncrease for low-bandwidth connections. Decrease for near-real-time updates.

A shorter interval means faster content updates but more network traffic. A longer interval reduces traffic but delays content changes.

The player caches content locally so it can continue playing even if the network goes down.

SettingDefaultWhen to Change
Cache Size10 GBIncrease if you have large video files or many layouts. Decrease on devices with limited storage.
Cache PolicyKeep all referenced contentChange to “Keep active only” on devices with very limited storage.
